I know the idea of a cold war Supremacy game has been at least once before. However, a cold war version of Supremacy would have more advanced units to pick from.
In WWI they didn't have helicopters like; Little Bird's, Huey's and Apache's. A cold war supremacy game would have more combat in the air.
The helicopters should cost the following:
Little Bird (Light attack helicopter, Scout helicopter)
25,000 pounds 5,000 iron 5,000 oil 5,000 gas
Damage 2.0 (Land, Air)
Damage 1.0 (Sea)
Same bombardment radius as artillery but moves much faster.
Huey (Attack helicopter)
35,000 pounds 10,00 iron 7,000 oil 7,000 gas
Damage 3.0 (Land, Air)
Damage 1.0 (Sea)
Same bombardment radius as a battleship, moves slower then the Little Bird.
Can take much more damage then the Little Bird.
Apache (Gunship)
50,000 pounds 15,000 iron 10,000 oil 10,000 gas
Damage 6.0 (Land, Air)
Damage 1.0 (Sea)
Same bombardment radius as a battleship. Moves faster than the Huey but slower then the Little Bird. Can take about the same damage as Huey.
I'm not sure if railguns and battleships can hit helicopters. Regardless, a anti-aircraft gun (S.A.M) should be added as well.
Surface to Air Missile (S.A.M)
25,000 pounds 5,000 iron 5,000 oil
Damage 6.0 (Air)
Same movement speed as artillery. Same bombardment radius as battleship. Can bombard helicopters and airplanes. Airplanes can be hit if there flying within the S.A.M range. Airplanes can't be hit by an S.A.M if there satitioned on the ground.
Also in the game you wouldn't be out of luck if you don't produce enough coal to have many railways. Hence, a lack of railguns wouldn't lead to your demise. A cold war game would require players to diversify their armies more. Supremacy 1914 is a great game, I could see it being greater if it had a cold war map with helicopters and AA guns.
As for making the cold war map I'll leave that up to someone with better editing skills then myself. I would like to see all of Russia and all of USA on the map. Though they will probably be split into smaller countries like on the 30 player map.
