Today is opening day for Major League baseball! It has been a long and chilly off-season, but the wait is finally over. Yeah.
Now I know that there are people on this forum from around the globe, and that most of you could not care less about baseball, so this thread is probably not for you. Now, if you are a person who falls to sleep at night with thoughts of on base percentages and Brian Wilson's beard, then you are indeed in the right place.
I thought it might be fun to post predictions for the upcoming 2011 season here. In October we can unearth this thread to see who was right, and mock all those who were wrong (Baltimore winning the AL East?). The person who is dead on in their predictions will be the winner of the coveted Baseball Soothsayer Ribbon*.
*okay, so this ribbon does not actually exist on Supremacy, but will instead be made by me...by hand...out of construction paper and glitter. smiley face?
So, go ahead and post your picks already. I will lead it off...
AL East - Boston Redsox
AL Central - Detroit Tigers
AL West - Texas Rangers
Wild Card- Chicago Whitesox
-----
NL East - Philadelphia Phillies
NL Central - Milwaukee Brewers
NL West - San Francisco Giants
Wild Card - Chicago Cubs
