In my opinion GM is a tool to help beginners to correct mistakes and provide them an equal chance in the game. As people learn they might spend less GM. Also GM provides an equal level (especially with HC function) to players with tight RL schedule, to have an equal chance with people who can spend more time in the game.
The two aspects above do not distort the game.
I want to start a debate on how effective GM can be used or spent to counter people whose budgets are somewhat very big.
For instance, how to counter 100 000 GM expenditure with 5 k or 10? How effectively can a play be made equal with some measures?
Bytro allowed alliance tournaments to be staged free of GM. Also provides a backdoor for some GM collection. So even a tight budget player can gather enough by some clicking to amass sufficient funds for a single player tourney.
I also invite ideas of GM use, as GM heavy users play a kind of different game. That must be interesting too.
Lets have some fun with debate, and let ideas pour in :D
