What the hell is going on?!?!!

So in game Game ID 196849, I sent 20 000 troops to attack Cherepovets (I'm playing as Finland and I am at war with Northern Russia. Then I was sleeping, and when I woke up and tried to check my games, they were not working. I tried later. Then the games were working, and what I saw. Cherepovets was still North Russian, BUT GUARDED BY MY INFANTRY!!! In the same place, there was a cluster of my infantry divisions and brigades (what the hell, I sent only one infantry division consisting of 20 000 troops) and they were STILL ATTACKING THE TOWN. After a while, Cherepovets was Finnish and guarded by 12 000 Finnish troops. In the newspaper...

HOW THE HELL WAS THE SAME PROVINCE CAPTURED 7 TIMES?!?!! I WAS ALREADY AT WAR WITH NORTH RUSSIA THEN WHY IT SAYS I ATTACKED IT WITHOUT WARNING?!
