My battleships have a shortest range than the enemy ones

I have seen there have been other people with this problem, but I haven't found an answer to this.

When confronting enemy battleships, at least in game 107676, the enemy has a longer range. I have to keep getting closer for 1/2 minutes before I can bombard him.

I have meatshield and he hasn't, I don't know, maybe it's that.

I keep refreshing the map but nothing happens. I just have to wait till my battlehips get in range
