The situation: I was allied with China and Japan and we conquered all the other "players" and NPC's, and then made an alliance with the Dutch East Indies. Now there is just the four of us players who control our respective portions of the map.
I intentionally tried to capture a few more provinces (I think I am leading 2nd by about 4 provinces, and 3rd by about 6) so that I would have a much greater advantage for achieving an economic win.
I have almost completely max upgraded factories in every province, harbours, railroads, and am also working on fortresses just for province upgrade points. My production is singificantly greater than the other players.
The problem: since around day 48 to the current day (57 I think), my DE score has either remained steady or more often dropped a few points per day. During this time I've been building upgrades non-stop and all of my provinces are at 100% morale.
I haven't entered a war with anyone, I have lost morale due to resource shortages, I haven't done anything that I know reduces DE score, according to my understanding of the DE score equation.
The Question: Why is my DE score dropping? And is it impossible to win the game (reach 1000 points) with this amount of provinces. I.e, am I going to have to break an alliance?
