I am making my first game engine all on my own for my multiple game series... Well my first game engine of many. Butter Ball Bill can testify that the forum already is set up with a prototype testing schedule by itself. So with that being said, I am having issues with window size and creation of windows. I am using SFML and C++ to code it, but its taking longer than I thought.
Should I
A. Release snipets of code to be run on Codeblocks with the compiler
B. Hold off on the release and release of forum until I have everything sorted
C. something I havent thought about?
Also another question along same lines... What would you like to see when a prototype for a brand new game engine is released?
A. Code Snipets(same that would be released if I did the snipets in previous question)
B. Fully functioning prototype with battle, production, etc?
C. Partial functioning prototype with basic production and units?
D. Something I have not thought of...
Reason for these questions is this, I had committed to releasing a prototype in july... With a Q&A and a new forum release. Sadly I am behind due to working on code for windows/window size. Once I get all the small things "" figured out, I can dive in deep into the real meat of the engine... Right now thats kinda where I am. I have plenty of meat written down, but no true engine to place it into. I am debating using Unreal engine to do a few small games and do my game engine on the side, but honestly that is contridicting myself and I dont want to do that either.
I am open for suggestions and the like, but realize also this will be the 5th year of preproduction for any PC game series I am working on. I am in a rut but will get out, kinda like i was with C++ awhile back.
